Front Yard

So here is the beginning of my house tour, including before and afters thus far.  This is a picture of our house the day we had our inspection before closing.  Our house was built in the early 70's and every inch of it was a reminder.  So many plans for this house....
Be sure to note awful, HUGE bush front and center and the part of the
house to the right of the garage.  More on that next.

So this was a little bonus we got with our house.  We have a green house.  The previous owner raised orchids and had built this green house.  We are still undecided if it is a positive or negative.  It is a very intricate set up and not something I could really use to start growing year round crops or something but it is usable for a possible addition one day....master suite with fireplace or if you ask someone else a workshop.  Any guesses which I'm rooting for?

I couldn't even tell you what all those pipes are for.  This guy was serious about his orchids.
The idea of a greenhouse sounds kind of cool.  I did use it this spring to start some of my plants for our garden outside but once summer hit, the temp. in there was well over 100 and would cost a few hundred dollars a month to keep it running.  So, master suite it is.

My Love working to get the bush out.

Here is an after shot of the front.  Compared to the interior and backyard this is where we have spent the least amount of time/money so far.  We removed that gorgeous bush, trimmed back the other bushes, pulled out a few dead bushes in front of the walkway and put sod in where all the bushes used to be.

I so wanted a cute pic of the 3 of them in their matching golf shirts in front of the house.  Cute, perhaps but not
quite what I had in mind:)

Included on our list of things we'd like to do is paint the house.  I can't wait to be rid of the dark brown and lighten the place up.  Maybe a greyish blue color and then change the brick out to stone, maybe a porch, brick walkway.  Or maybe just paint the house a lighter color and be done for a while, we'll see what the paint crew is up to doing:)

 One more before and After..

Before

And After.
Removing the big bush has exposed our water well.  I am thinking pretty, big rock and flowers and stuff eventually.

About Me

Welcome!  My name is Leigh.  I just started this blog, well, 6 months ago really but have finally decided to be devoted.  I am a registered nurse but currently a full time, stay at home mom to 3 boys. Henry is 6, Samuel 4 and Andrew is 2.  Last year we bought our first house.  We have been renovating room by room from the original, early 1970's look to a modern and practical home with 4 boys(that includes the love of my life).  Lucky for me, God blessed me with a very handy husband and together we have been working on our home.  We have had many hiccups along the way which is what prompted me to start the blog originally.  We knew transforming our house wouldn't be easy but we have encountered everything from racoons in our attic to a flooding basement.  I am not exactly quick to make a decision so I have a way of drawing things out as I labor over what light fixture and what paint color.  And of course our 3 little helpers are only of great assistance.  Luckily, they are cute.
As time has passed and I have stalked other bloggers I have realized how awesome it is that I could have a place to archive our home renovation journey and also share my thoughts and ideas on decorating, raising all boys, keeping my home healthy and along the way, maybe I will inspire someone out there the way so many bloggers have for me.  Please follow along on our adventure!

UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

Hi!  Glad you stopped by.  I just started this blog and am slowly working on things.  Come back soon when I actually have things up and running!
